4EU+ Call for participation - Workshop “Framework for Area Studies”
International, three-days workshop in Prague organized by Charles University and the Universities of Milan, Heidelberg and Warsaw as part of the “Framework for Area Studies” project of the 4EU+ Alliance.
The general aim of the “Framework for Area Studies” project is to lay the basis for a long-term framework within 4EU+ for the development of Area Studies that would enable the study of “Europe in a Changing World”. Area Studies involve complex, interdisciplinary research and scholarship on historical, political, cultural and linguistic diversity – they make it possible to understand “Europeannes” without Eurocentrism.
The key topic of the workshop is the content and teaching methods of Area Studies, through a multidisciplinary approach that combines the study of history, international relations, culture and present-day problems. The participants will discuss and plan a joint course that will take place online next Spring.
